It is a membrane filtration process that removes suspended solids, bacteria, viruses, endotoxins and more to produce high purity water with a low sediment density. They can retain particles of 0.005 and 0.05 μm microns in a fluid.


Ultrafiltration uses hydrostatic pressure to force water through a semi-permeable membrane. The pore size is usually 103-106 Daltons. Ultrafiltration can utilize spiral membranes that utilize cross flow separation, hollow fiber membranes, or from the outside, in the use of a vacuum to purify water. The membranes remove very small particles, such as organisms resistant to chlorine, bacteria, organics, sediments, high molecular solutes and other suspended solids.




THE FILTRATION STAGES


1. Stage: 5 micron Sediment Filter 3 to 6 months.

3. Stage: CTO combined charcoal filter 3 to 6 months

4. Step. UF: Uses very small pore membranes (below 0.1 micron). 1-2 years

5. Stages: Post Carbon 1years
